AIMA/CME/E-journal/2012
Dear Sir/Madam,
Subject. : Call for Research Papers
for “AIMA Journal of Management & Research”
Management Research has expanded significantly in recent years,
making it difficult for scholars to follow advances in multiple specialized
subfields. AIMA Journal for Management and Research (AJMR) addresses this
by publishing important theoretical and empirical research done in various
subfields of management. The objective of this theme based journal is to
quickly update the researchers in specific fields. Facilitating them with
latest Research Paper, Bibliography of research papers and books.
The goal of AJMR is to bring fresh perspective to research in
management and take research to masses through its open access, internet based
technology. AJMR is a quarterly journal, and every quarter a new
topic/theme is chosen and paper pertaining to it are called for and
subsequently reviewed for publication. We take this opportunity to invite
research papers, case studies, monographs on the below stated theme.
The theme for
the August issue is “Business Intelligence, Analysis and
Strategy”
Background Theme
The key to thriving in a competitive marketplace is staying ahead
of the competition. Making sound business decisions based on accurate and
current information takes more than intuition. Business success depends upon
opportunities availed, strategy designed and action taken.
But in most of the situation like in retail where Fifty-Three
percent (53%) of large
retailers indicate that customer analysis is difficult due to enormity of data
from different channels. Retailers have more data than they are capable of
processing. More often than not retailers blame disparate sources and enormity
of customer data as the primary reason for lack of adequate consumer insights
that inhibits new customer acquisition, customer retention and reactivation.
This inability curtails effective retail planning and execution in the areas of
customer-centric merchandising, marketing, promotion and pricing, among other
critical customer value chain areas. Many large retailers including Wal-Mart and Lowe’s try and grapple with this customer data complexity every day.
CRM tools are pivotal in the “before the sale” stage of customer-centric
retailing. But CRM has its limitation. The retail now like other businesses is
shifting to BI (Business Intelligence) with is advance tools and options.
Business intelligence (BI) is a broad category which includes
applications and technologies for gathering, storing, analyzing, and providing
access to data to help enterprise users make better and more informed business
decisions. Business Intelligence applications include the activities of
decision support systems, query and reporting, online analytical processing
(OLAP), statistical analysis, forecasting, and data mining.
BI data and reporting provides unit-level consumer buying
trends, category, channel, store sales analysis and predictive buying behavior
data analysis. BI applications that gather, analyze and share consumer insights
in retail through basic reporting and customer performance dashboards can
directly or indirectly impact retail profitability, customer sales and service
performance. Currently, 20% of companies in different sectors are using
Business Intelligence across the world. There is very little knowledge on its
advantages, implementation and tools of Business Intelligence. At the same time
very few research papers are published are published in Indian journals.
